The port of Iquitos in the Amazon rainforest is the entrance to the Amazon River, which is the largest in the world. Amazonas is the name of the rainforest and the largest river in the world, which was discovered by Francisco Orellana of Spanish origin.
Before the conquest, the river did not have a unique name; on the contrary, the natives indistinctly named the different sections with words such as Paranaguazú (Great Relative of the Sea), Guyerma; Solimões, etc.
In 1500, Vicente Yáñez Pinzón, commander of a Spanish exploration expedition, became the first European to venture down the Amazon River (Iquitos) after discovering that its waters were navigable and drinkable.

Detailed Itinerary:
Tour Day 01. Puerto Iquitos – Amazon River – Anaconda – Cumaceba Amazon Lodge
Reception at the airport in the city of Iquitos by our professional guide, Introduction of the Iquitos Amazon rainforest tour.
Brief pedestrian Iquitos city tour depending on the arrival time.
Transfer to our private pier to board our fast boat,
If your trip is in the months of November to July we can visit the floating houses.
Then we will begin our adventure in the Peruvian Amazon, We will sail in our boat for an average of approximately 2 hours until we reach our tourist lodge in Cumaceba located on the banks of the Amazon River, during the boat trip we will be able to observe different communities or hamlets of the Amazonian people and some very colorful birds such as parrots and macaws.
Once we arrive at our lodge we will offer you a typical jungle drink and we will deliver you to the rooms or private cabins with all the services available. After a short break we will take a tour of the lodge facilities, which is very interesting in the Amazon.
Later we will take a walk through the primary jungle, getting to know the flora and fauna of the area. Returning from the walk we will enjoy a typical Amazonian lunch (self-service).
In the afternoon we will take a tour of the Amazon River to look for the Gray and Pink River Dolphins and other animals that are a must see, such as parrots, macaws, monkeys, etc.
Then we will visit a riverside family where they preserve some species of animals such as anacondas, sloths, turtles, among others. We will also be able to enjoy some typical aphrodisiac drinks with medicinal power from the jungle.

TOUR DAY 02: Cumaceba Amazon Lodge – Yaguas Community – Recreational Fishing
Very early we will have a morning excursion and bird watching in their natural habitat such as the legendary Shansho – Hoatzin.
A breakfast. Then we will visit the native group of Yagua knowing their typical clothing, dialect, way of life and their daily activity. Demonstration with the blowgun or pucuna the way of hunting birds and small monkeys.
Participation of the Tourists in one of their daily activities.
Return to the Lodge for a typical jungle buffet lunch. After lunch we will take a walk inside the jungle and in a very clear river we will do recreational fishing for piranhas and other fish that we will enjoy at dinner.
At night a boat ride on the Amazon River in search of alligators and boas listening to the sounds of the humid tropical forest. Dinner in our super comfortable lodge.

TOUR DAY 03. Cumaceba Amazon Lodge – Amazon River – Puerto Iquitos
We will wake up with the cry of the Howler monkey and very early we will go to the banks of the Amazon River to appreciate the sunrise and observe different species of birds on Padre Island and the ride will be in a canoe.
Also in this place we will appreciate the plant known as the Victoria Regia, the largest aquatic plant in the world.
After the ride we will return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious breakfast.
Then we will have a tour of the Amazon River to look for alligators and different Amazonian animals such as the anaconda and boa constrictors. Visit to a riverside family where they preserve some species of animals such as anacondas, sloths, turtles, monkeys, parrots among others.
Typical aphrodisiac drinks with medicinal power. Return to the lodge for lunch. Relaxation at the lodge in hammocks.
At 3:00 pm we will board our boat to return to the city of Iquitos and then we will transfer you to the Iquitos airport.

FAQs
Recommendations and conditions for visiting the Anaconda jungle:
- Bring light colored clothing, a windbreaker, hat, sunglasses, a water bottle, hiking shoes, a flashlight, repellent, sunscreen, antihistamine and anti-inflammatory pills for mosquito bites, and for your stay in the city, bring clothes of your choice. The use of boots and a plastic poncho for rain is necessary during your stay in the jungle. Check the cost at the Lodge itself.

Inconveniences on excursions through the Anaconda jungle:
- Children travel under the full responsibility of their parents. It is recommended from 3 years of age onwards.

The Amazon rainforest in Iquitos has a very humid tropical primary forest, home to different species of wild fauna and flora.
To take a tour of the Amazon River you have to arrive at the port of Iquitos from where you will board a boat with an outboard motor until you reach the camp.
In this part of the jungle you can see the famous pink dolphin and other animals such as boas, etc.
