ITINERARIO
AMAZON MANU NATIONAL PARK – CULTURAL ZONE: 3 days 2 nights
Tour in the Manu National Park Cultural Zone: This excursion offers an immersion in the biodiversity and culture of the Amazon rainforest. Experience the rich fauna and flora of its cloud forest in the heights of Manu Park, descend into the lowland jungle to explore diverse habitats and enjoy sightings of wildlife such as monkeys, tapirs and exotic birds, flora and fauna of the Peruvian jungle.
Trip Itinerary:
Day 01: Cusco – Manu Claud Forest – Pilcopata lodge.
We will leave the city of Cusco very early in the morning. Our van will begin climbing into the high zone of the andes. the first stop will be in Ninamarca (funeral cementery of pre incas people). The next stop will be for breakfast in Paucartambo village, Then we’ll continue to Ajanaco that is the beginnig of Manu National Park, From where we’ll descend into the mysterious cloud forest full of orchids, bromeliads and ferns, This afternoon we’ll visit the high jungle and learn about the medicinal plants that is use for cure some diseases of the jungle, We will take about a 1 hour walk and we’ll see the ritual of the “Andean cock of the rock birds, In this high jungle are possible to see many species of birds like, Trogons, Quetzal, tanagers, oropendolas etc.
In the afternoon we’ll arrive at our lodge, Paradise Inn of Pilcopata, with double and triple rooms with private bathrooms and showers.
Day 02: Pilcopata lodge – Atalaya port – Amazo arpia lodge – Machuwasi lake.
After our delicious breakfast we’ll continue the trip to Atalaya port, Alond the way we will do some walks for apreciate monqueys, Pecaris and many species of birds like parrot, macaws and oropendolas etc. This mornig we’ll have chanse to visit a coca leaf plantation where our tour guide will give you all the informations about its. once we will arrive to Atala port we’ll board a motorized boat destined for Amazon Arpia lodge Our boat ride upstream on the mighty Madre de Dios river will be approximately 40 minutes long. This boat ride is a signature feature of our Manu Rainforest Tours, Upon arrival at Amazon arpia Lodge, our crew will escort you to your respective rooms. (Lunch will be at the lodge).
Post lunch, we’ll visit the tranquil Machuwasi lake. Here, we’ll navigate the calm waters on traditional balsa rafts and observe many animals such us fishing birds, camungos, hoatzin, monkeys and capybaras up close, As the afternoon transitions into the evening, keep your eyes open for caimans. They resemble crocodiles and are often spotted in these waters. After visiting the lake we will return to our lodge to enjoy a delicious dinner.
After dinner, we’ll turn our sights to the nocturnal creatures of the rainforest with a night safari. This will be your chance to spot an array of unique creatures, from toads and frogs to snakes and spiders. This night-time adventure will round off an extraordinary day in the Amazon Rainforest.
Day 03: Lodge – Parrot clay lick – Atalaya – Cusco.
Very early in the morning we will leave our lodge and board a boat to visit the parrot clay lick that is a 25-minute boat ride to visit the Parrot Clay Lick.
The Parrot Clay Lick is a truly mesmerizing sight. Here, you’ll witness a vibrant variety of parrots and macaws as they feast on the mineral-rich clay. Our experienced guide will explain the fascinating science behind this phenomenon. They will also share insights into the health benefits that the clay provides for these birds.
Following our experience at the parrot clay lick we will return by boat to the lodge to enjoy a delicious breakfast, Afterward, we’ll embark on our boat for a leisurely ride back to Atalaya port.
This trip back to Atalaya takes around 40 minutes. It allows you one last chance to soak in the breathtaking scenery of the Peruvian Amazon. On arrival at the port, our private transport will be waiting to take you back to Cusco. This will be marking the end of your three day adventure in the Amazon.
The drive back to Cusco, offers a change in scenery and climate. It’s an opportunity to reflect on the marvels of the Amazon. You can recall the wildlife you’ve seen. You can remember the tranquility of the river. And you can revisit the imagery of the jungle
We will travel back through the mysterious cloud forest destined for the city of Cusco. As we near Cusco, we can’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment. After all, completing the Manu Rainforest Tours is no small feat. It’s an experience that leaves you with a deeper appreciation of the Amazon and memories to last a lifetime. Arrival time to cusco will be at 18.00 hrs aproximately.
