This four-day itinerary includes exploring the high and low areas of the jungle, filled with a rich diversity of flora and fauna. Accompanied by a professional guide specialized in jungles, participants will be able to enjoy walks and expeditions in the primary forest. During the tour, there will be sightings of a wide variety of tree species, orchids, medicinal plants, as well as monkeys, macaws, capybaras, wild boars, tapirs, alligators, among other notable inhabitants of this unique ecosystem. DETAILED TRAVEL ITINERARY:

Day 01: Cusco – Manu clouds forest – Pilcopata lodge.

Step into the world of wilderness and wonder with the first day of your four-day Manu Jungle Tours. We will begin our journey early in the morning. We’ll start by picking you up from your hotel in Cusco. We will leave the city of Cusco in the morning in our van climbing towards the high zone of Paucartambo. On our journey we’ll visit the funeral cemetery of Lupacas peoples (chulpas de Nina marca) and the typical colonial town of Paucartambo. The journey then continues to the breathtaking Manu Cloud Forest, which is at an altitude of approximately 7,874 feet (2,400 meters). This two-hour drive will take you through scenery brimming with beautiful orchids, native plants, bromeliads and primitive ferns. A stop for lunch amidst the towering trees and enchanting bird songs will make for a memorable mid-day respite. Next, gear up for a short hike through the forest. Here you’ll get a chance to witness the vibrant spectacle of the Peruvian national bird, the Andean cock of the rock (rupícola peruviana), monkeys, butterflies, etc. As the day winds down, a one-hour drive will transport you to the welcoming haven of the Pilcopata paradice Lodge. It is nestled in the lower altitudes of the forest at approximately 2,297 feet (700 meters). Your first day on the Manu Jungle Tours is designed to offer a beautiful balance of travel, exploration, and relaxation.

 Day 2: Pilcopata lodge – Atalaya port – Arpia lodge.

After breakfast we’ll continue our journey by car to Atalaya port, On the way you could see many birds such as, macaws, oropéndolas, woodpeckers, vultures and some group of monkeys, etc. Then reaching to Atalaya port, where we’ll board a motorized boat destined for Arepia Lodge. Our boat ride upstream on the mighty Madre de Dios river will be approximately 40 minutes long. This boat ride is a signature feature of our Manu Rainforest Tours. The boat ride alone is an adventure. You’ll be surrounded by stunning landscapes that will make you feel as if you’re truly in the heart of the Amazon. Upon arrival at Arpia Lodge, our crew will escort you to your respective rooms. Here we’ll spend the next 2 night.

In the afternoon after to enjoy our lunch we will going to walk through the jungle, where our tour guide will give you all the informations about the wildlife that surrounds you, this walking will be for around 3 hours.

Nights Activity: This night we will going to walk along the interesting trails that are in this rainforest, The night walk is very exciting because is possible to see some important insects and beautiful amphibians, if we are lucky, is possible to see some snake and caimans.

 Day 3: Arpia lodge – Parrot and macaw clay lick – Machuwasi lake.

Early in the morning we’ll visit the Parrot clay lick, The Parrot Clay Lick is a truly mesmerizing sight. Here, you’ll witness a vibrant variety of parrots and macaws as they feast on the mineral-rich clay. Our experienced guide will explain the fascinating science behind this phenomenon. They will also share insights into the health benefits that the clay provides for these birds. Following our visit to the Clay Lick, we’ll return to the lodge for breakfast, After we will going to explore along the exciting jungle paths to catch a glimpse of monkeys, peccaries, tapirs and a range of colorful birds, This walk will last 3 to 4 hours, Delicious lunch at the lodge. After a brief rest we’ll take a walk into the dense jungle to visit the beautiful Lake of Machu Wasi, Here, we’ll navigate the calm waters on traditional balsa rafts. enjoying the calm lake and look the variety of colorful birds and typical birds of this region, is possible see some mammals, caimans etc.

Free Optional activity:

After dinner, we’ll turn our sights to the nocturnal creatures of the rainforest with a night safari. This will be your chance to spot an array of unique creatures, from toads and frogs to snakes and spiders. This night-time adventure will round off an extraordinary day in the Amazon Rainforest.

Day 4: Arpia lodge – Atalaya port – Cusco.

The fourth day of your Manu Jungle Tours with Orellana Expeditions signifies the final stretch of your indelible journey. You’ll wake up to the familiar sounds of the jungle and enjoy a final breakfast at Arpia Lodge. It is located at 1,476 feet (450 meters). Afterward, we’ll embark on our boat for a leisurely ride back to Atalaya port. Where our van will be waiting to meet us there take us back to the city of Cusco. On our return trip we will once again pass through the mysterious cloud forest and will be able to see more of the beautiful flora and fauna of the area.

The Manu National Park
