CHONTA CONDOR FLIGHT TOUR & HUMANTAY LAGOON

DETAILED TRAVEL ITINERARY:

DAY 01: CUSCO – KILLARUMIYOC – CHONTA COMMUNITY – CONDOR FLIGHT

07:00 am pick up from your hotel, then we will travel for an average of 50 minutes until we reach the archaeological zone of KILARUMIYOC. This place was a sacred temple of the Incas dedicated to the fertility of the earth and of every living being in this world, (Killarumiyoc was the temple of the Moon).

After visiting Killarumiyoc we will continue the trip until we reach the Limatambo valley known as the land of the avocado or Avocado, The next stop will be at the CONDOR ADVENTURE PARK where we will do our adventure sport the zip line (zip line) and Tibetan bridge.

To do our adventure sport you will be given all the necessary equipment and our expert adventure sport guide will give you all the information to do this extreme sport that is the zip line (zip line) and the Tibetan bridge,

What is THE ZIP LINE? We have two metal cables very well installed which have different lengths and heights by which we will fly from one point to another using our adventure equipment.,

TIBETAN BRIDGE is a suspension bridge built with metal cables which crosses a ravine and has a height of approximately 30 meters, After doing the adventure sport we will have lunch in our typical restaurant prepared by our professional chef.

After enjoying our lunch we will continue the trip by car for an average of 20 minutes to the town of Chonta, from where we will begin to walk with the destination viewpoint of the condor, the walk lasts an average of 1 hour and 15 minutes approximately and the road is flat gradual with small climbs and descents a total of 3 km.

Once we arrive at the viewpoint we will have the opportunity to witness the impressive Andean condor in its natural habitat. We will position ourselves at the viewpoint and wait for the condors to arrive after their daily activities.

This wait will not be long since the condors normally return to their nests in the afternoon between 2:00 pm. Here you will have a very good opportunity to see the condors up close and for an average of 1 hour or more flying in front of you and sometimes you can see them flying 20 meters from the viewpoint and you will be more than amazed.

After appreciating the natural wonder of the Apurimac canyon and the flight of the condors, we will walk back to the town of Chonta and then to the Huaychao farm where we will spend the night in our camp.
We will spend the night in tents or marquees well equipped with double mattresses and sleeping bags. At night we will make a campfire outdoors and prepare a grill for dinner. Then we will appreciate the Milky Way and the different formations of animal figures that for the Incas have a special meaning.

DAY 02: HUAYCHAO FARM / HUMANTAY LAGOON – CUSCO

We will wake up at the first rooster’s cry and with a cup of coca tea or a super hot coffee, then we will enjoy our delicious breakfast and then we will start our trip to the Humantay lagoon. We will travel by car to the Soraypampa sector from where we will begin the walk to the Humantay lagoon.

The walk lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes of pure ascent. During the walk to the lagoon we will enjoy the beautiful views that this magical place offers.

In the lagoon we will stay a considerable time and enough to take all the photos you want with the lake and the snowy mountains of Salkantay and Humantay and our guide will explain to us the importance of the lake was in the time of the Incas.

Then we will return to Soraypamapa (Mollepata) where we will enjoy a buffet lunch. Later we will continue the trip back to the city of Cusco in our vehicle.

Arrival time in the city of Cusco approximately 5:00 pm.
