DETAILED ITINERARY OF THE TREKKING:

DAY 01: CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – HUMANTAY LAGOON – SORAYPAMPA CAMP (3900 MASL)

Pick up from your hotel (4:45 am) with our mobility. Then we will begin the trip towards the town of Mollepata. The trip lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. Here we will enjoy our delicious breakfast and have free time to do your last shopping. . . If necessary, then we will continue our mobility for 30 minutes to the Challacancha sector (3600 meters above sea level), the starting point of our Salkantay trek. Here we will meet our muleteers and the horses who are in charge of carrying our equipment. . . camping and food for the entire trip. This day the walk will be in 2 different parts, the first part is from challacancha to soraypampa for an average of 3 hours until we reach our camp. In the afternoon we will take a 2-hour walk and visit the Humantay lagoon, which is turquoise blue. After taking all the necessary photos, we will return to our camp where we will spend the first night in super comfortable typical huts under the blue sky full of stars.

DAY 02: SORAYPAMPA CAMP – ABRA SALKANTAY – CHAULLAY CAMP (2900 MASL)

After a nutritious and delicious breakfast we will begin our walk along a steep path to the highest point of the Salkantay pass (4600 meters above sea level). From this point we will be able to appreciate the spectacular panoramic views of mountains, ravines and glaciers. The pass or pass . . It is located in the middle of the snow-capped peaks of Humantay and Salkantay. Salkantay is the highest peak in the Cusco region and one of the most important and sacred to Andean man (sacred mountain of the Incas) after making a stop at the pass. From Salkantay, what continues on our walk is pure descent to our second chaullay camp. Approximately in the middle we will make a stop in the Huayracmachay sector (3900 meters above sea level) to enjoy our Peruvian lunch. Then we will continue with the pure descent walk through an average of 3 hours to our Chaullay camp (2900 m).

DAY 03: CHAULLAY CAMP – SAHUAYACO BEACH – ELECTRIC HYDRO – AGUAS CALIENTES 2000 meters above sea level)

This day will be one of the wonderful walks through the lush high jungle of the Amazon, we will walk through beautiful places of high jungle (ceja de selva) to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town), we will leave our Chaullay camp very early and we will walk two different sections . . , The first section is from Chaullay to Sahuayaco beach and the second section is from hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes (Pueblo Machupicchu). Along this path we will have the opportunity to walk through the high jungle full of wild flora and fauna and with luck we can See the cock-of-the-rock, considered the national bird of Peru, among other birds that are very interesting to see. You can also see many flowers such as orchids, bromeliads, ferns and some essential animals of the high jungle. We will pass through many crystalline rivers that come down from the snow-capped Salkantay. It will undoubtedly be the most spectacular walk of our entire trip. We will arrive at Sahuayaco beach for lunch time. After our lunch we will take a car that will take us to the hydroelectric plant. This car trip will be for an average of 1 hour and 45 minutes, then we will continue our walk to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town) , This hike is very special because we will walk along the entire shore of the upper Urubamba River and in the distance we will be able to see the Inca citadel of Machupicchu and the mountain of Huaynapicchu. After 3 hours of walking, we will arrive at the town of Aguas Calientes where we will stay in a hotel reserved by our company. The hotel has double, double and triple rooms, all with private bathrooms and showers and with internet, etc.

At 7 p.m. we will enjoy our dinner at a restaurant in the area and then our guide will explain to us about the activity of the last day, which will be the visit to the Inca citadel of Machupicchu.

DAY 04: PUEBLO OF AGUAS CALIENTES – HIKE TO MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO CITY.

The most anticipated day for all travelers is this day, because we will visit the Inca city of Machupicchu.

We have two ways to get to Machupicchu (walking or by bus).

The first is walking. At 4:30 am we will leave our Aguas Calientes hotel to Machu Picchu. This walk is through the original path. The walk is for an average of 1 hour and 30 minutes walking slightly slowly. For many travelers it is a unique experience of walking up and appreciating the sunrise step by step.

The second option is by bus from Aguas Calientes to the entrance gate of Machupicchu. You will take the first tourist bus that leaves at 5:30 am. This short bus trip lasts 30 minutes and runs along an unpaved track through a mountain with jungle characteristics and impressive views.

At 6:15 am, everyone in the group will meet at the entrance gate of Machupicchu. Then we will begin the visit in an orderly manner and do the complete circuit of all of Machupicchu. The tour lasts an average of 3 with stops in the permitted places where Our guide will explain the history of Machupicchu and you will have time to take souvenir photos. After visiting Machupicchu we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes where you will have free time to have lunch and wait for the return train that will take us to the Ollantaytambo station.

Show up at the train station 30 minutes before departure. The train trip is for an average of 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Ollantaytambo station, our transfer will be waiting to take you back to the city of Cusco. The trip from Ollantayatmbo to Cusco is by bus and the trip duration is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
